In February 2019 Kamaroopin’s team announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Petlove, Brazil’s largest pet product e-commerce operation. The investment thesis is supported by secular changes in purchasing habits, such as the humanization of pets and growing preference for online purchasing, which favor the expansion of the online pet product market in Brazil.

During the first phase of this investment, Kamaroopin helped accelerate Petlove’s transformation from e-commerce to subscription in partnership with its management. In December 2019, subscriptions (with a purchase frequency of 12 times in three years) accounted for 76% of Petlove’s revenues. The focus was on monetizing the company’s growth, which was 38% in 2019 with an LTV/CAC of 10x, and operating cash generation as of the first quarter of 2020.

For the second phase of the investment, efforts have been focused on consolidating Petlove as the leading platform in the pet product sector. In September 2019 the company acquired Vetsmart, the world’s largest veterinary app in terms of users. During the second quarter of 2020, Kamaroopin led Petlove’s capitalization efforts and brought in Softbank and L Catterton as partners, tasked with enabling and accelerating the growth of Brazil’s best pet product ecosystem. In the last quarter of 2020 Kamaroopin supported the company in acquiring Vetus, Brazil’s second-largest Pet ERP and DogHero, the largest pet services marketplace in Latin America.

Kamaroopin invested in the acquisition of Vestmart, a technology company that has developed iOS and Android apps/websites for small and large-animal vets.

The deal was the first step in transforming Vet Pet into the largest and most valuable platform to assist in prescriptions and continuing education for veterinarians. Through technology, vets can connect in real time to tutors and even pets.

Founded in 2016, Consorciei makes the secondary market for “consortiums”* more transparent. The company unites technology, financial innovation and a highly specialized team to offer solutions to those who have joined a “consortium” and find themselves in need of liquidity.

The company has relationships with various “consortium” administrators. The whole process is 100% online and efficient, with the timeframe for a proposal sale being between two and seven days.
