As a second step towards developing our livestock technology platform, in April 2020 we announced an investment in Ideagri, a leader in financial and zootechnical management software for dairy and beef cattle farms.

Founded in 2007 in collaboration between the Rehagro and Linkcom groups, Ideagri quickly positioned itself as a leader and now monitors two million animals, helping different-sized farms improve breeding and produce better.

Over the years, the company has built the industry’s leading database and is responsible for the Ideagri Brazilian Milk Index (IILB), the benchmark for productivity measurement in the Brazilian dairy sector.

In partnership with Tarpon Capital, we are the principal shareholder in Kepler Weber, the largest Brazilian company in the post-harvest segment and one of whose strengths is in silos: the only point in the chain where 100% of all grain produced passes through.

Kepler Weber operates nationwide and exports to more than 30 countries.

Based on an in-depth analysis of the company and the segment, our investment – along with that of other shareholders and executives – aims to expand Kepler Weber’s identity by broadening its portfolio of services, promoting access to credit and adopting new technologies to reduce Brazil’s massive storage deficit.

In August 2019 we invested in OnFarm, a high-growth startup offering innovative animal health solutions. The company specializes in detecting and monitoring bovine mastitis (an udder and teat infection in cows), empowering farmers through animal welfare management.

Diagnoses are made directly on the farms, allowing farmers to reduce antibiotics use by 40%, milk waste by 50% and recover their investment five times.

Since then OnFarm has multiplied its client base eight-fold, to 1,000 dairy farms in Brazil.
